The Capitol Theatre will again rock to the thrilling sounds of Ireland and Scotland as the Mohawk Valley Frasers present
"A Celtic Evening II"

Members of the Mohawk Valley Frasers are spearheading the effort to bring together top-notch Celtic musicians for an evening of music and dance. "We've wanted to do something like this for a long time," said James Clough, Pipe Major of the Frasers. "It's a chance to give something back to the Central New York Community that has been so supportive of our efforts over the years."

The hour-and-half long show will feature a host of regionally acclaimed musicians and dancers, including Celtic vocalists, Irish step dancers, a Celtic mandolin player, Scottish highland dancers, an uilleann piper, Irish fiddlers, Scottish country dancers, an Irish accordion player, a highland drum salute, the Comhaltas Irish music group, and the Mohawk Valley Frasers Pipes and Drums.

World-renowned piper Andrew Douglas of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, Burnaby, British Columbia, will present a solo performance that is featured on SFU's upcoming CD. Andrew, who started his piping career with the Mohawk Valley Frasers, is sure to "bring the house down."

"The whole evening was conceived along the lines of a ceilidh, which is a unique Celtic party where the host requests a variety of performers to take turns providing the entertainment," said Barbara Tewksbury, chair and host of the event, " and, like any good ceilidh, not one of the contacted performers has declined to participate. We are thrilled to have enlisted the very best talent."
